SORAYA SHARGHI
Soraya Sharghi (b. 1988, Tehran, Iran) is an Iranian artist based in New York whose paintings and sculptures draw from Persian mythology, folklore, and contemporary culture to construct new narratives centered on power, identity, and the female figure. Blending ancient iconography with her own imagined worlds, Sharghi creates vivid mythologies that bridge history and the present. She received a BFA in Painting from Soore Art University in Tehran and an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Leila Heller Gallery (New York and Dubai), SETAREH (Düsseldorf), the Columbus Museum of Art, the Today Art Museum in Beijing, and the MOAH Museum in Los Angeles.
