Maria Isabel Robledo was born in Manalizales Colombia, moved to Miami when she was nine, and then to New York City to attend university, and has never left. Working at home in Brooklyn, with a kiln in her backyard, Maria makes objects that escape the utilitarian, and venture into the realm of sculpture. Rooted in a family of artists- her daughter, Isabel showing work at Onna House alongside her in this exhibition- Maria has found her connection with clay running deep and vibrant.
