Heather Couch is an Assistant Professor of Art at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida. Heather received an MFA in Fine Art / Ceramics in 2015 from Arizona State University. She works in sculptural ceramics and mixed media installation, composing with material language to form pieces that reflect on tensions of uncertainty. Heather earned a B.A. in Sculpture at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, followed by continued study in ceramics at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Alfred University, Chautauqua School of Art in New York, and Hong Ik University in Seoul, South Korea. Recent exhibitions include “Accumulations” at the Coral Springs Museum of Art, “On This Day” at CRETA Rome in Rome, Italy, "Static/Not Static" at The Peach Arts District in West Palm Beach, and “Composing Texture” at the University of Dallas in Texas. Heather has been a resident artist at CRETA Rome in Rome Italy, the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach Florida, the International Ceramics Studio in Kecskemet Hungary, and the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa Arizona. Her work can be found in private and public collection including Florida Gulf Coast University, Union University, and the Mesa Contemporary Art Museum (MCA).
