DEBORAH BRETT

Artist’s statement:

With a background in fashion design from Central St. Martins School of Art and a career as a Fashion journalist and magazine editor, Deborah draws on passions formulated studying textile design and her journeys travelling the world on fashion shoots. Deborah’s work is drawn to the balance between texture and colour in relation to form.

Working in both porcelain and oxides as well as stoneware layered with different glazes, her bowls, platters and vase-like sculptural forms combine hand building, slab work as well as thrown pieces making them both practical and decorative.
